The Birth of Edupreneurial Pivot

In the spring of 2017, Dominique Bourqui worked as a coach in the program “Graines d’Entrepreneurs” (a Swiss entrepreneurship and innovation program for 10 to 18 years old schoolchildren, partner of HEC Paris in France) at the Institut International de Lancy in Geneva.

David Claivaz served as Director of Education at this pioneer institution (First K-12 Apple Distinguished School).

As soon as they met, Dominique Bourqui and David Claivaz began a conversation about the nature of Entrepreneurial Mindset and the role it could play in the organization of schools and their transformation. The conversation gradually evolved into a fundamental reflection that the essay titled “Edupreneurial Pivot” strives to translate.

Dominique Bourqui and David Claivaz recently presented their work in international events:

  • Conference: Approaching the implementation of technology with tools from the world of startups, May 3rd, 2018, International Conference on Education CRIFPE, Montreal.
  • Conference and workshop: Why there should not be any second thought linked to an ethical dilemma to prevent education from using business-originated methods?, June 6th, 2018, International Conference, Globethics, Château de Bossey near Geneva.
